CHOOSING A TITLE
This topic came to mind as, not for the
first time, a title around which I should write a story was offered. Usually
something I say or have written, gives rise to the suggestion. So far though my
titles come to mind when the story has progressed, or I have finished it. Only
when I wrote the third book ‘The Haunt of Fate’ had I determined by the end of
the first chapter that the word Fate had to appear in the title. Even if the
word is not actually said, it is surprising how many sayings we use really
express the hopes that the Fates are kind, or what will be, will be. Yet for
several readers of the book mentioned what has interested them greatly as part
of the story is the tour of Australia it gave them without the long journey of
getting there.
